Reward Your Online Students

I started working for VIPKID in 2017. I absolutely love my job. I started my store on Teachers Pay Teachers in 2016. I love how my store gives me the opportunity to be creative. Since I love both of these jobs so much, it was only a matter of time before I combined them.

If you teach in an online classroom, you know how small your space is. I only have a small table in the corner of my room to work from. You have to be very organized to keep all of your supplies ready to use. It can get very cluttered very quickly with all of the props and rewards that you need for your classes. Especially if you teach many back to back classes.

So let's talk about those rewards. Let's face it...kids like to earn stuff. They like to get stickers and smiley faces so that they know they did a good job. And I want to give my students a great reward for doing a good job too. I had a terrible time finding rewards that were good for all ages of students. The small pieces were taking over my space. So I came up with some paper rewards that I could keep track of.

I knew that all kids love animals. And I happened to have a lot of animal clipart in my stash. So I combined them into my first set of VIPKID rewards. I made a beautiful, full color background and then made a second paper with colorful squares. Add a little lamination, a few Velcro dots and I was ready to go.

I use the colored square to cover the animal pictures. When my student does a good job, he or she gets to pick a number and uncover an animal. It is so simple, but even the oldest kids love to find the hidden pictures. The younger students can practice numbers or colors when they choose a square to remove. And you can extend your lesson by teaching the animal names or teach about where they live.

If you would like to purchase some rewards for your online classroom, head over to my store and check out my VIPKID section.

Happy Teaching,

Laura
